Colonel James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes, also known as War Machine (October 6, 1968), is a superhero and a major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He is a colonel in the U.S. Air force, a jet pilot, and an Aerospace engineer. He is a good friend of Tony Stark, and is the liaison between Stark Industries and the military in the department of acquisitions. His power comes from his high-tech battle suit known as "War Machine", which grants him extraordinary strength, durability, flight capabilities, and various on-board weaponry.

He is portrayed by Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle in all of the proceeding appearances.
