General Okoye is a major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is the leader of the Dora Milaje, and is tasked with protecting the king and Wakanda from threats from outside of the nation by leading Wakanda's armed forces. After the coronation of T'Challa, Okoye worked with the new king in stopping his cousin Erik Killmonger, and later attempted to stop Thanos' plan to no avail. After Thanos decimated half of the universe, Okoye joined the Avengers and later assisted them in fighting Thanos and his army in 2023.
Following T'Challa's death, Okoye worked with Shuri to protect Wakanda from the threat of the Talokanil, which results in her losing her position in the Dora Milaje. Despite this, she would become a member of the Midnight Angels to help Shuri, and later left Wakanda to find her new purpose.
