Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, is a major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
An Air Force Lieutenant-turned-Colonel, Danvers had ran afoul of the despotic alien race; the Kree. She was endowed with cosmic powers by a Tesseract-powered light engine explosion, altering her physiology and giving her immense abilities, but also wiping out her memories. The Kree Empire kidnapped Danvers and exploited her amnesia to make her think she's one of their soldiers named "Vers" and have her hunt down the Skrulls by feeding her fraudulent propaganda about the Skrulls being evil planet conquering invaders. Once the Skrull leader Talos helped Danvers recover her memories and realize the Kree were lying to her, she defected the Kree Empire and dedicated herself to become an inter-galactic heroine named "Captain Marvel".
She is portrayed by Brie Larson, as Alexandra Daniels voiced different iterations of the character in the Disney+ animated series What If...?.
McKenna Grace and London Fuller portray the younger Carol.
